Cache County Democrats Caucus Night

Cache County Democrats Caucus Night

Hello all,

We are excited to announce that it is time for neighborhood Caucus Night for the Cache County Democrats. We will be meeting on Tuesday, March 5th from 6-8PM at Old Main on the USU campus Room 115. You can preregister by filling out the form on this link: We encourage you to do this as it will save you time the night of. I was able to do it on my cell phone so it should be pretty easy to do. Many don't know what caucus night is so the following information is to explain the role of the event.

What is Caucus night? Whether it’s to become a Precinct Officer or Delegate, learn about what the Democratic Party is doing in your area, or get to know your Democratic neighbors, you should attend your Neighborhood Caucus meeting to get involved in the Democratic Party.

What is a Precinct Officer? Precinct Officers are the grassroots organizers in the Democratic Party. Each precinct has an opening for a Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. Together, Precinct Officers work to organize their neighborhoods. The County Party provides training and tools to help you organize your neighborhood along the way so you always have support. Precinct Chairs and Vice-Chairs also serve on the County Party Central Committee, which is the governing body of the County Party between conventions.

What is a Delegate? Delegates constitute the governing body of the Democratic Party at conventions. Delegates select the Democratic nominee at convention for partisan offices and elect Democratic Party leadership.

We hope you can come out and join us! We will also be holding our County Convention on Saturday March 23rd. This is where we will formally endorse our candidates and you will have the opportunity to hear from candidates. More details will be coming about this later. If you require any special accommodations please let us know prior to Caucus night and Convention.

You should have also started to receive your primary ballots for the Presidential Primary. You had to be officially registered as a Democrat to have received that. I just received mine today. You have until March 5th to turn those in. While we can register voters at caucus, we will not be able to receive your ballots so plan to mail it in ahead of time or at the county drop off locations. If you have any questions for party leadership, as always feel free to email us at

Thanks and hope to see you at Caucus Night!
