Looking to 2026

We hope everyone is enjoying the Holidays with those they love and we want to take the opportunity to wish you a Happy New Year!

With a New Year, comes another election cycle! It's hard to believe it's time again! Cache Democrats have some exciting State House races and county races and we are looking for a few more interested candidates to run. 2026 is going to be an exciting year for Democrats across the country and we want to be a part of it. If we ever hope to flip some seats in Cache county, we have to get people who are brave enough to put themselves out there and run for office. Why run for office especially in a typically red county?

  1. REPRESENT YOUR COMMUNITY: County and state decisions directly impact daily life —voters deserve a voice that reflects their values.
  2. ADVANCE ISSUES YOU CARE ABOUT: Run because you’re passionate about specific issues and want to make meaningful change.
  3. END UNCONTESTED RACES: When seats go uncontested, 100% of voters didn’t choose their representative — and silence is not consent.
  4. HOLD INCUMBENTS ACCOUNTABLE: Challengers force incumbents to defend their record and answer to voters.
  5. BUILD A STRONGER DEMOCRATIC PIPELINE: Running creates momentum — developing future candidates, volunteers, and community leaders.

We are still looking for interested candidates for several races! Here are a few examples: There is going to be a special election as Barbara Tidwell has chosen to retire before finishing her most recent elected term. The winner of the special election will finish serving the remaining two years of the term. This is a winnable race and one we did not lose by much in 2024. If you live in the Northwest area of Logan talk to us about running! We also need someone to run in the south east area of the county (College/Young Ward, Millville, Nibley, Providence and River Heights). State House District 1 and State Senate District 1 also need some good candidates. If you have ever thought about being the County Executive, County Clerk, County Attorney, or County Sheriff and have the qualifications necessary we would love to hear from you. All it takes to run for office is someone willing and someone who cares about the community. We are working with other candidates to have a coordinated campaign so you won't be doing this alone! One of my favorite quotes is "The World is Ran by Those Who Show Up". Cache Democrats need you to show up! Don't wait too long to think this over. Filing begins and ends next week! Let's show Cache County the blue wave that is coming in 2026!
